Concert by the INSA Jazz Ensemble

04 April 2017 - 20h30

Rotonde des Humanités, INSA Lyon
Ensemble Jazz INSA Snarky Puppy

The students of the INSA Jazz Ensemble introduce you to Snarky Puppy!

In tune with the wishes of a student audience, the musicians of the EJI will perform covers of this innovative US group that combines jazz fusion with pop, rock, funk and world sounds. This ambitious project helps to stimulate the students’ creativity by broadening their artistic horizons. It is also a way of reconciling jazz with the classical approach of members of INSA’s Music Society (Association Musicale).

During this exceptional concert, 22 musicians will bring contemporary jazz fusion to life on the stage of the Rotonde!

The INSA Jazz Ensemble (EJI) comprises around a dozen musicians. It took over from the Big Band created in 2009. It is conducted by Paule Cornet, a pianist, composer and arranger who studied jazz at the University of Miami. The INSA Music Society (AMI) encompasses the students of the music-studies sections as well as other students who play music. It organizes several concerts each year as well as an integration weekend for the section and InterZik’et, an event that brings together all the students of the music-studies sections throughout the INSA Group.
