To tie in with “Terres en-corps”, the Burkinabe sculptor and bronze smelter Abou Traoré and the gallery owner François Deneulin will give you a unique opportunity to experience a bronze casting session using the traditional lost wax (or “cire perdue”) technique!
To prepare for this event, the students of INSA’s art-studies sections will be taking part in workshops with the artist throughout May.
This evening event dovetails perfectly with the 30th anniversary of the art-studies section and the creation of a new bronze sculpture, to be inaugurated on June 1 on INSA’s “Pelouse du Premier Cycle”.
An exhibition of sculptures by Abou Traoré will be showcased in the INSA Lyon Humanities Buildings from May 9 to June 9, 2017.
